The Ark, a sculpted space

Following prior experiance, Fred Mensink, Sil van Oort and Rombachs are now working on remodeling the first floor of a living barge. Using our knowledge of form and craftmanship the living barge will become a sculpted space, where design and realisation occur simultaneously.

An epoxy bathroom

The design of a bathroom started with a simple program. A bath, a wash basin, a shower. The design was not conceived as such. It evolved simply by starting to work with the chosen materials. The choice was made to work with   roofmate insulation panels and PUR [poly urethane spray foam]. Because the object is on a living barge, the material had to be light.

Arts and music festival 008
Artistic director and Chairman of the foundation 008, Frederik Rombach

The festival is an ongoing project that seeks to express cross overs between artistic media. The festival is nomadic, in that yearly it never has the same location, always moving to areas in around a city, that are being developed.
008 also looks for new methods of PR and marketing, using existing systems but also looking to new techniques, such as guerilla marketing, to gain financing as well as a reputation for offhand expressive tactics.
008 is going into it's second year.

Roses for children, Arnhem
On September 26th the 5 year anniversary of the
Roses for children Foundation was celebrated on site at the National High Park Veluwe, Arnhem. Rombachs, Fred Mensink and Sil van Oord worked together to design and realize two sitting objects. These two sitting objects are the carriers of stones that come form all over the world. Each stone symbolizes an unknown child from each country. Herman van Veen unveiled the objects for all to see.

Opening KW-terrein
On October 25th a New Artists Colony was officially opened in Arnhem, Schuytgraaf. Here Rombachs will set up an outdoor working facility ,for larger glass and architectural work. Besides bigger objects such as a glass structure for a theatre production in 2010, work will start with the building of the mobilotel. Built into a former Regional bus, the “Mobilotel” will cater to the upperclass in Europe.
